Playing the violin …

Benefits to beginners:

• Available in very small sizes for children as young as 3 or 4!
• Beginner violins are made in large numbers and are therefore relatively inexpensive.
• Being one of the most popular classical instruments, there are many private teachers available.

But:

• A good musical ear & ability to pitch needs to be developed from the start in order to make good progress.
• Compared to many other instruments, the violin is physically quite demanding in the early stages.
